We chose to make the Tuckerman Hardshell with Polartec® NeoShell® fabric because breathability is at the core of this fabric's design.

NeoShell's® unique fabric design utilizes the optimal pore size and placement in order to release heat and perspiration without high-pressure buildup. This way, you stay dry while maintaining a comfortable body temperature.

NeoShell® provides the protection necessary for braving the winter elements while allowing for a full range of movement and comfort.




What's the point of a waterproof jacket you can't move freely in? 

Instead of obsessing over excessively high waterproof ratings, Polartec® built its NeoShell® fabric with performance as the main priority. 

Skiing, climbing, and hiking require a comfortable free range of movement. NeoShell® allows the Tuckerman to protect you from the elements without sacrificing performance in the outdoors.

Built to Handle Whatever Winter Throws at You

The Tuckerman features full-length 2-Slider Pit Zips to allow users more control over the airflow in high-heat areas of their body. This feature makes this shell ideal for backcountry skiers and hikers as they're constantly exerting different amounts of energy.

Brave the wind when you're above the treeline. NeoShell® is Wind Resistant, giving the Tuckerman the necessary versatility to handle the elements whether deep in the backcountry or out on the main face.

Polartec® NeoShell® allows more breathability through its sub-micron membrane structure at the core of the fabric. The combination of breathability and a waterproof rating of 10,000mm help make this jacket elite for all-mountain winter acdventures.

When backcountry skiing, you're constantly exerting different amounts of energy depending on steep terrain and difficult hikes. One moment you're freezing and the next moment you're drenched in perspiration. The Tuckerman puts an end to this. 

This shell utilizes 2-slider pit zips, an underarm zipper feature that gives users more say when and where they want to increase or decrease airflow. Cool off while skinning up a steep incline and stay warm while taking a rest.

The same goes for those skiing inbounds. Skiers often build up body heat on a tough run only to sit on the chairlift and freeze in their perspiration. The Tuckerman helps one avoid this drawback as its breathability prevents you from overheating, and pit-zips allow you to control airflow.
